Fire Fighting Systems

RSI Electro can supply a range of modern fire-fighting systems meant for military and special vehicles. The company also provides assistance at every stage of the process, namely the design, purchase, installation and maintenance of the aforementioned systems.

The technologies operate with the help of efficient, approved, environmentally friendly extinguishing agents, and fall into three main categories:

Fire extinguishing systems in the engine compartment
Fire suppression systems in the crew compartment
External fire suppression systems

The products are intended for installation both in tanks, namely models TR 85M1 and MLI 84, as well as inside urban-specific vehicles such as police vehicles and armored vehicles.

Possible fire threats

In the context of modern fire threats, scenarios such as military combat operations and/or spontaneous attacks by terrorist groups in urban settings must be taken into consideration. These events may lead to the presence of fire in various partitions of a vehicle, but mainly in the crew compartment, engine compartment and vehicle exterior.

The threats are diverse, for example:

Crew compartment
  • Molotov Cocktails
  • Napalm Bombs
  • Ammunition & Residues
  • Electric equipment/Electronics
  • Personal luggage
  • Crew heaters, Camping stoves
Engine Compartment
  • Molotov Cocktails
  • Mines
  • IEDs
  • Napalm Bombs
  • Fuels
  • Electrical Equipment
  • Molotov Cocktails
  • Mines
  • IEDs
  • Napalm Bombs
  • Fuel tanks
System functionality

Given the threats listed above, there is a need to protect the crew in order to maximize the survival rate and facilitate good performance during military operations.

The products are designed to support these aspects, taking into account the shapes of the chassis, the need to use durable materials (ceramics, aramid fibers, kevlar) and the presence of protective interior design elements (mine protection seats).

Thus, the systems quickly ensure the detection and extinguishing of fires. The connection to a vehicle's informational system is achieved through a CAN Bus or RS232 controller.
